This was the second time i went to tsukiji fish market and restaurnt. The first time i ate at tsukiji was for dinner, i went the first week they opened, it was okay but not as good as i expected, small buffet and sushi selection, no yakitory bar. Opposite of what they promised. This past sunday i thought i give it another try and go for a lunch buffet. 17.95 for lunch was a deal! they added alot more items to their buffet and sushi bar, even adding a desert/fruit selection. They had live music playing which was nice. My favorite was the shrimp tempura, which was delicious and its a buffet so i could eat as much as i wanted. Their Shave ice was the best!! Just as good as Mastumoto shave ice, very fine. The food tasted better this time, and i left full and satisfied. I was worth the 17$

Being a former eployee and being able to communicate with the customers, I felt that the restaurant was lacking in being ahead in making sure food was still fresh and not let it out standing until the food would run out. they need to also be able to replenish sushi on time and it would help if customers could read what the items are. Thats what I observed from my eyes and what customers tell me.

I thought the food was quite good. A friend of mine, who went for dinner, said that they ran out of items fairly quickly - especially the crab legs and kalbi. I think they have some kinks to work out in their system, but overall, my experience was a good one - and my family enjoyed it. I thought the selection was better than Kyoto Ohsho and it was quite a bit cheaper. However, I like the way Kyoto Ohsho presents their food (in separate dishes for a more teishoku style experience). I thought it was worth the $17.
